Little Spanish Teacher
¡Hola!
I am Jasmine also known as Little Spanish Teacher. Why little? Because I stand tall at a whole 4'11" inches! I once overheard students talking about who they had for Spanish class and one said "Oh, I have the Little Spanish Teacher" and the name stuck. I was born & raised in New York City, specifically Queens but currently reside in the Mid-Atlantic (VA, MD) area. I am a military spouse, a mom, and I currently teach High School Spanish online but previously taught in person in Chesapeake, VA. I love teaching Spanish, especially to High Schoolers and I am passionate about building relationships with them and helping language teachers that are short on time survive and shine!
My Story
I was born and raised in New York City by a Guatemalan mother and spent almost every summer of my childhood with my grandmother and extended family in Guatemala where I exclusively spoke Spanish. Growing up in NYC I immersed myself in the many diverse cultures of through friends and extended family. I have friends from all over the world and love all types of Latino accents and can even do some myself. I love learning and teaching my students all about the diversity of Latin American cultures.I married into a Colombian-Ecuadorean family so I get to eat and cook lots of yummy food!
